City Cooperates with NTT to Meet Beef Supply

To meet beef supply in Jakarta, Jakarta Provincial Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provincial Government at Kupang, NTT, Saturday (12/20). The signing was witnessed by President Joko Widodo.

On the other hand, the President also wants to proper the breeders in NTT,” stated Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama, at City Hall, Monday (12/22).
In his visit, Ahok was accompanied by Head of Jakarta Marine and Agricultural Department, Head of Economic Bureau, President Director of PD Dharma Jaya, and President Director of PD Pasar Jaya.
Jokowi Donates Black Cow to Kapuk Muara ResidentsThe cooperation includes financial assistance by Jakarta Provincial Government to boost cow breeding until to distribution process, as well as cow maintenance and nurture by NTT breeders with profit-sharing scheme.
According to Ahok, the financial assistance will be adjusted to the breeders’ abilities. In addition, Jakarta Marine and Livestock Department will also provide seeds to be distributed to the cow breeders. He believes this cooperation would bring positive impacts to cheap beef price and to the welfare of cow breeders in NTT.
“Transportation Ministry would also provide two ships to bring the cows,” he told.
